Decarbonisation pathways for local authorities, citizen and businesses
For whom
LOCALISED is providing comprehensible and self-usable tools and guidelines as well as academic insights on NUTS-3 level decarbonization trajectories. Therefore are useful for everyone studying, improving, and implementing climate change mitigation and adaptation measures at the local and regional levels in Europe. We offer information for:
- Local and regional public administrations and public technical bodies as wel as, consultancies and sectoral associations, that are responsible for urban planning, energy planning, and transport planning, especially those facing limited resources or lacking information;
- Local and regional businesses and business associations showing a growing interest in planning their carbon reduction;
- Academicians, including social, adaptation and behavior scientists, persons engaged in participation research and gender studies, and climate, mitigation, and energy modelers
- Interested citizens and public groups seeking new forms of participatory innovation.
Public technical bodies of European small and middle sized cities and regions, consultancies and sectoral associations who are in charge of the planning and implementation of decarbonisation and adaptation measures and projects. They can participate in the design and testing of the LOCALISED tools, use the Climate Action Strategiser and other tools and inform themselves generally about local decarbonisation planning.
Local and regional decision makers who have to decide about mitigation and adaptation plans, and need to implement climate-related commitments in national or European initiatives, as e.g. the Covenant of Mayors, ICLEI, etc.
Local and regional businesses and business associations, startup networks, SME associations, investor groups, who have to plan and implement available options to minimise the costs of the zero-carbon transition, and maximise its co-benefits, by understanding the availability and costs of different low-carbon technology options at the local and sectoral level, including the role of digitalisation.
Scientists and researchers from academic institutions and research centres, e.g. climate, mitigation and energy modelliers, urban planning, policy and governance, social, adaptation and behaviour scientists, participation and gender research, who aim to tackle large-scale scientific or societal problems for which existing approaches, methods and technologies need to be further developed.
Citizens, climate activists and civil society organisations, seeking new forms of participatory innovation and decision making.
